Ask most agencies how their billing is going and you will hear some version of "I think fine? We get a report every month."
That is the problem. A monthly PDF tells you what already happened. It does not tell you which claims are stuck right now, why, or who is working them.
What you should be able to see
- Live claim status. Every claim, where it is, and what it is waiting on.
- Denials as they happen. Not a total at the end of the month, but the claim, the reason, and what is being done about it.
- Accounts receivable by age and payer. So you can see a payer slowing down before it becomes a cash flow problem.
- Who owns the next step. A name, not a department.
- Patient balances and outreach. What patients were sent and when.
Why most billing companies do not show this
Usually not because they are hiding anything. Their software was never built for the agency to log in to. It was built for the billing office.
We work your claims inside the same LifelineIQ platform your agency uses. When our billers update a claim, you can see it. That is the whole point.
One question for your current vendor
Ask them: "Can I log in right now and see every open claim, with the reason it is open?" The answer tells you most of what you need to know.
